At Moloney's Meat Market, when you walk in, you're family.
"You can't beat the people from Jersey City, they are the best people in the world, no matter where you go," says Tom Moloney with ease.
Moloney's Meat Market's owner Tom Moloney is a fourth-generation butcher and his love for his customers and the people of Jersey City has him grinning. When you walk through the doors of 627 Newark Avenue, you’re stepping back to an era where customers were excited to catch up with their local butcher.
"I'm a happy guy, I have fun with the customers. We laugh all day here. We have fun," says Moloney. Moloney's has been here doing just that in the Journal Square neighborhood for 140 years, taking care of their customers and consistently delivering unparalleled customer service with their top-quality cuts. "The bottom line is that if I'm not taking a cut home, then the customer's not taking it home," says Moloney.
Today as it was in 1875, Moloney is behind the counter with a smile offering a great selection of beef, pork, chicken, veal, and lamb, as well as seafood, Italian ravioli, Irish specialty dishes, fresh deli meats, homemade salads, homemade soups, daily lunch specials and so much more. When asked about the Journal Square area Tom answered confidently:
"We definitely plan on staying here…It's only going to get even better."
